API reference

GPEX combines the published research layers with interactive scenario weighting, comparison and sensitivity analysis. This page describes the interfaces used by the application.

How this edition runs

This GitHub Pages edition performs interactive calculations inside your browser. A background worker handles the application’s /api/… requests and returns results to the existing interface. The listed routes are browser compatibility interfaces, not public HTTP endpoints that can be called from another application.

Published scenario outputs and scientific data are served with the site. Creating a custom scenario does not upload your judgments to a calculation server. Saved scenarios remain in the browser where you save them; use the Model Builder’s JSON export to keep a separate copy.

The background map uses an external tile service and therefore requires an internet connection. The app’s numerical layers and calculations are separate from that background map.

Project, evidence and scenarios

InterfacePurpose
GET /api/projectStudy area, analytical grid and research experiment metadata.
GET /api/map-configCoordinate systems, grid extent, basemap and display palettes.
GET /api/evidenceSeven evidence-layer definitions and their interpretation.
GET /api/scenariosCurated scenarios, hierarchical weights and consistency checks.
GET /api/evidence-maps/{layer_id}.png?palette=…Evidence-layer preview in the selected palette.
GET /api/scenario-maps/{scenario_id}.png?palette=…Curated prospectivity map preview.
GET /api/location/inspect?scenario_id=…&easting=…&northing=…Analytical cell score, high-rank membership and theme/evidence contributions. Coordinates are UTM zone 35S metres.

Scenario comparison

InterfacePurpose
GET /api/scenario-comparison?scenario_a=…&scenario_b=…High-ranked overlap and continuous score-change statistics for the selected pair.
GET /api/scenario-difference-maps/{scenario_a}/{scenario_b}.pngSigned score-change map, calculated as scenario B minus scenario A.

Model Builder

InterfacePurpose
GET /api/model-builder/configComparison groups, judgment scale and baseline defaults.
POST /api/model-builder/weightsFAHP weights and consistency information for the submitted judgments.
POST /api/model-builder/evaluateGenerate a prospectivity result and summary statistics from accepted judgments.
GET /api/model-builder/maps/{token}.pngMap preview for the generated custom result.
GET /api/model-builder/location/{token}?easting=…&northing=…Inspect a cell of the current custom result.

Result tokens identify calculations in the current page session. Reloading the page clears calculated results. Saved scenario definitions can be loaded and calculated again.

Sensitivity and robustness

InterfacePurpose
GET /api/stability/configPublished sensitivity/robustness products, summary statistics and threshold choices.
GET /api/stability/maps/{product_id}.pngPublished persistence map.
GET /api/stability/masks/{product_id}.png?threshold=…Published stable-zone mask at the chosen persistence threshold.
GET /api/stability/location/frozen?product_id=…&threshold=…&easting=…&northing=…Published cell persistence, occurrence count and threshold membership.
POST /api/stability/customCalculate agreement across the selected saved Model Builder scenarios.
GET /api/stability/custom-maps/{token}.pngCustom agreement map.
GET /api/stability/custom-masks/{token}.png?threshold=…Custom stable-zone mask.
GET /api/stability/location/custom/{token}?threshold=…&easting=…&northing=…Inspect a custom agreement cell and its scenario membership.

Reading the results

Prospectivity scores express relative favourability under the selected evidence and weighting assumptions. They are not mineral-occurrence probabilities. The highest-ranked zone is evaluated separately for each scenario. Persistence records how frequently a cell remains in that zone across the scenarios being compared.

Map previews support visual comparison. Cell inspectors and summary statistics use the analytical data. Changing the display palette does not alter the scientific values.
